This 35 m² apartment project covered two rooms with existing beech parquet. The floor was sanded, toned with white oil, sealed with Vermeister V15 primer, and finished with a two-component lacquer. Beech can be difficult to tone evenly because it absorbs pigment inconsistently, so the process had to be controlled carefully to achieve a balanced final result.

Surface preparation
The existing beech parquet was sanded back fully to remove the previous finish and prepare the surface for controlled toning.
White oil toning
White oil was used to soften the naturally yellow tone of the beech. Because beech absorbs tint unevenly, the application had to be controlled carefully to keep the colour consistent.

After toning, the floor was sealed with Vermeister V15 primer and finished with a two-component lacquer for durability and long-term protection.
